THE NEXT CHAPTER IN AN
ICONIC LEGACY IS NOW AVAILABLE
IN NEW ZEALAND, WITH THE ARRIVAL
OF THE NEW 308 GT AND 308 GTi
BY PEUGEOT SPORT.

Peugeot New Zealand has welcomed two new high performance versions to the extensive 308 range: the dynamic New 308 GT and iconic 308 GTi by Peugeot Sport. These new versions reflect Peugeot’s global move up-market and effortlessly embrace Peugeot’s racing heritage.

“The GT and GTi badges have long been synonymous with our history and their return marks a real turning point for the brand”, said Simon Rose Division Manager for Peugeot New Zealand.”

“To have accomplished a record for power-to-weight ratio in the 270hp 308 GTi model is testament to what can be accomplished by developing a high performance chassis and engine, tuned in conjunction with the motorsport arm of the business; Peugeot Sport.”

The new 308 GTi generated great anticipation among enthusiasts ahead of its arrival in New Zealand; a modern interpretation and celebration of Peugeot’s lengthy history of producing true performance hot hatches. From the legendary 205 GTi to the latest 208 GTi and RCZ R, Peugeot has sold its high performance models to over 800,000
customers worldwide.

Peugeot Sport – the company’s in-house tuning division devoted exclusively to developing the brand’s most high performance models – used their engineers’ and motorsport expertise to create the 308 GTi with the sole ambition of creating the ultimate hot hatch driving experience. The 308 GTi by Peugeot Sport offers drivers a performance enhanced 1.6-litre turbo engine, producing 270hp (200kW) coupled with a 6-speed manual gearbox, Torsen limited-slip differential and improved chassis.

The 308 GTi sets a new record for powerto-weight ratio in its segment, at just 4.46kg per unit of horsepower, and accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in just 6.0 seconds, covering 1,000 metres from a standing start in 25.3 seconds.

The power plant is the most efficient in its category too, capping CO2 at 139g/km or 6.0-litres/100km.

Meanwhile the 308 GT possesses all the strong points of the 308 range while adopting a sportier look.

This car is built to be an efficient daily driver that is still capable of morphing into a bundle of fun at the press of a button.

The new GT is fitted with a 2.0-litre BlueHDi 180 engine, EAT6 automatic transmission and delivers 180hp (133kW) at 3750 rpm, with its maximum torque of 400 Nm arriving at just 2000rpm. With exceptional fuel consumption of just 4.0-litres/100km (combined), the GT offers superb driving pleasure and efficiency.

“The entire Peugeot dealer network is extremely excited to have a true performance hot-hatch worthy of the GTi badge back in the business,” concludes Simon Rose.

Available at authorised Peugeot New Zealand dealers, the new Peugeot 308 GT is priced from $49,990 + ORC and the Peugeot 308 GTi by Peugeot Sport from $58,990 + ORC.
